Stop Spotlight: 8th Street Market & Prairie Artisan Ales

Hello again and welcome to another Stop Spotlight feature on the blog. The temperature outside has reached over 60 degrees and it's the beginning of tour season. We can't wait to show you around the city and discover all that Oklahoma City has to offer. This week we're talking about one of the newest developments in the city: 8th Street Market!

8th Street Market is a mixed use building in the heart of Downtown, Oklahoma City. Built in 2016, residents have been slowing moving into the space. The best part of 8th Street Market is the large windows and skylights, surrounded by tons of greenery. It makes you feel like you're outside, without all that pesky Oklahoma wind. 8th Street Market currently houses one of our favorite breweries: Prairie Artisan Ales.

Prairie Artisan Ales was founded in 2012 in Oklahoma. Their most popular beer is the BOMB!, which is an imperial stout aged on coffee, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chili peppers. The chili peppers add a hint of heat, and offsets the sweetness of the chocolate and vanilla. The secret to this beer, is when you pour, you turn the beer all the way upside down, almost like a nitro brew coffee. Be careful though - the ABV is around 13%.

Along with the BOMB! Prairie offers all sorts of inventive beers in their taproom, located inside of 8th Street Market. Some of our favorites are the Vape Tricks, which is a Sour Ale aged on Cherries, and the Standard, which is an everyday Farmhouse Ale.

If craft beer isn't your thing, 8th Street Market is home to the new fast-casual Vietnamese concept Masgasin Table. Magasin table offers Viet staples, such as Bahn Mi and Pho, along with shareable appetizers such as Gyoza. Magasin Table is the first food concept in 8th Street Market, and we think it's a winner! Tip: grab your Bahn Mi and head over to Prairie for a double feature.

Coming soon in 8th Street Market? Prelude Coffee, a coffee concept on the second floor. They will be opening in 3-4 weeks, and owned by the folks behind Mariposa Coffee Roasters.

Curious about 8th Street Market? We make a stop there to sample some Prairie brews on our Bikes + Brews Tour! Book a tour with us today and see what all the fuss is about. If your a design nerd like us, learn more about the architects concept here.
